Mountains & Meadows Care Group is seeking a Infection Prevention and Control Designate to join our leadership team. In this impactful role, you’ll drive quality practices to ensure safe and effective process to mitigate the spread of infections among residents families and employees.

You’ll work closely with the team at Mountain Lea Lodge to manage, develop, implement and monitor the IPAC program.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership

·         Managing the IPAC program at Mountains and Meadows Care Group.

·         Chairs quarterly IPAC meetings with the interdisciplinary health care team.

·         Coordinates vaccination programs

  • Provide on-call support during evenings, weekends, and provider absences, as needed.

 

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

  • Actively engage in internal and external committees and Communities of Practice (e.g., Palliative Care, Skin & Wound Care)

  • Oversee and update the outbreak management plan

 

 

Education & Mentorship

·         Collaborate with key stakeholders from the organization and Nova Scotia Health to develop, implement and monitor the IPAC Program.

 

  • Deliver formal and informal training, mentoring, and coaching to enhance best IPAC practices.

Quality Improvement

  • Lead and support quality improvement initiatives focused on enhancing outcomes and clinical standards.

  • Regular infection control surveillance to ensure best practice

Qualifications

  • Licensure with the College of Nurses of Nova Scotia

  • Completion of the IPAC Certificate or equivalent

  • 2+ years of experience in a related clinical or leadership role (long-term care experience an asset)

  • Strong clinical judgment, leadership presence, and collaborative mindset

  • Skilled in performance management, critical thinking, and strategic problem solving
