Position Title: Summer Assistant                          Positions available: 1

Location: Bridgetown                                            Department: Independent Living Services

Competition Number: CSS-2026-11-SS              Length: 8 weeks starting June 22/26

Closing Date: June 5, 2026 Pay Rate: $17.00/ hour

Hours: 35 hrs./ week (will include some evenings and weekends)

Position function:

We are looking for an outgoing person with a passion for helping others. As the Summer Assistant you will work closely with the supervisor team to schedule, organize and facilitate inclusive programs at the Hub for Community Hub participants (this includes Community Support Services, The Meadows, Willow Vale Apartments and other community members). Programs may include but are not limited to outings to community events, bus rides, outdoor games, therapeutic related programs as well as regular indoor programs such as church services, movie nights, baking, bingo and other events to meet individual interests. The student positions report to the Independent Living Services Supervisors.

The typical work environment may have plants and animals as well as working outside. Must be in good mental and physical health and able to bend, lift, and stretch as required for job performance. The MMCG provides services for adults who may have physical limitations, intellectual disabilities, mental health concerns or dementia who, from time to time when upset, may exhibit behaviors.

Qualifications:

 Attending post-secondary education in Community Development, Education or related field.

Preferred:

 Certifications: First Aid/CPR, Musical ability an asset, Experience in garden therapy or willingness to learn.
